Hi, congrats on publishing your game. You seem to have a pretty good premise, it would be awesome to see some sort of, oh I can't pay and then instead you can buy items off them from your personal stash. I also had issues with the game only showing up correctly in full screen and got stuck on Day 1. I could see this game being a great double edged game where the extra gold you earn during the day can be used for upgrades or something. It would be great if it was a bit more high risk to try and rob the customers. Maybe they could report you and you would have to try and intimidate them to stay quite. Overall, awesome job!

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I may need to take some time to do the ui design so it behaves properly in browsers as this was a last minute port to save people from downloading.  If I worked on this as a full fledged game (which I intend to once I finish another project) it'll be something to go on Steam but for the next bootcamp I may still need to focus on browser compatibility.  There is only 1 day of play coded at this point and expanding that experience in a modular fashion will be a goal for the next bootcamp.  Love the ideas of how to use the gold and the risks of robbing.  I think a simple iteration would be to have an approval score which is decreased when you fail to successfully swindle someone.  One of my challenges was learning how to condense some of my bigger ideas to fit the design scope for the bootcamp.

  • The basic Day loop seems to work, could not get past Day 1
  • I understood the given tasks and had tools to address them
  • The UI was a bit out of screen
  • The basic mechanics seem to work, great job
  • Feels like this type of game needs an overarching storyline that you can get into to as well as personal motivation to not adhere to the instructions given

Yeah the one day was a scope choice since this was in fact the first game project I've completed on my own. It was difficult to create a game that was anything more than proof of gameplay concept in the time allotted with my current skillset.  I wanted to having something discrete and functional.  I have some ideas for how to expand it further in a modular fashion so I will revisit this with the upcoming Bootcamp.  With respect to choices to not adhere to instructions, I plan to build up to different outcomes based on choice, probably with some branching outcomes at the end.  The idea is you'll have a career path (guidelines), a personal path (wealth), some story paths etc.

I think it had a loading problem in my browser. I could only get to a screen saying toll it and nothing else happened for a long time.

Did you try it in fullscreen?  When I first loaded it I thought it was broken but it worked as soon as I put it in fullscreen.
